Toxicroak is a vicious, venomous frog-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It is the evolved form of Croagunk.

Toxicroak evolves from Croagunk at Level 37. The toxin made in its poison sacs is pumped to the claws of its knuckles through tubes down its arms. This allows Toxicroak's knuckle claws to secrete a toxin vile enough to make mere scratches potentially fatal (although this is of course not reflected in gameplay). Toxicroak has a poison sac in its throat, and its croaking actually churns the stored poison to increase its potency. They also have flexible bodies which allow them to sway and dodge opponent's attacks while getting close enough to lunge with their claws.

In Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Versions, Toxicroak could appear in the Great Marsh after the National Pokédex was unlocked. In most other games, it could only be obtained by evolving a Croagunk.

*In the Pokémon anime, Toxicroak was featured in several episodes of the Sinnoh series as the main Pokémon of Team Galactic's Saturn. It developed a rivalry with Brock's Croagunk that finally ended when Croagunk took the Toxicroak down in one hit during the last Team Galactic episode. Other Toxicroak have made primarily minor appearances.

*Its name is a simply combination of "toxic" with "croak".
