Kinnison Chapter 16
Location: Mercenary Fort
Breaking Camp
The young archer made his way from his bed onto the hard floor, without Kiro he was able to get dressed and make way from his room. Slowly he made it past each room careful not to disturb anyone that was sleeping, finally he reached the door. As expected it was left locked, as he was about to pull the key from his pouch, he realized he needed to leave something so they won't get worried. Quietly he made his way upstairs in front of the Meeting Room, he hadn't actually been there since he informed Flik of the burning of Ryube and the meeting of that weird kid, Makato. The door opened, it let out a slight creaking noise, he froze, after a few minutes he proceeded in. Grabbing a small peice of paper he scribbled a message on it and placed it on the desk. He then gathered a few things, a map, some paper and writing tools and a few of the Daggers stored for Emergencies. After doing this, he made his way to the front door, and out of the Mercenary Fort Gates. At last he was homefree, the burden of General of the Archers was gone, and now he could be on his own.
After a few days, Kinnison reached the town of Radat, there he stayed for a few days until he decided to press on. From there he reached South Window, he cashed in his potch and took it easy in the Inn resting for a few days. After his long rest, he continued up to South Window, just as he was leaving the city, he ran into a man just entering the city. Kinnison had seen him before, it was the guy he met in the Grasslands.
"Hey.. aren't you that........" Kinnison began as he was grabbed by the guy and draggged into a alley as a mob of angry peopl ran by.
"There....." The man said "Finally got away......"
"Aren't you that guy that sold me the Rune that lets you talk to animals?" Kinnison asked.
"Hey.... Yeah" He answered "You are, I suppose we never got to prpoerly introduce ourselves, my name is Cornuck, and yours?"
"Ahh.. My name is Kinnison... That... Err Rune never did work........"
"Well, Haha! You didn't use it right, it only happens when a Animal has something important to say" Cornuck replied "Anyhow, I managed to get a Blinking Rune made by a talented Runemaster, Since your other Rune was faulty, I'll sell it to ya for the low price of 3,000 Potch!"
"Hmmm....." Kinnison thought it over, he had the Potch ready, but he wasn't sure he had enough magic to equip another Rune "I'll take it then"
"It' s a deal then!" Cornuck said as he grabbed Kinnison's Potch and dropped the Rune in his hand, he then vanished.
Kinnison blinked, he took the Rune and pocketed it, he then decided to head towards the Rune Shop. It had been about a month since he had got his Rage Rune equipped there, so it was about time to go at it again. He handed the Rune over the counter, "Can I get this Rune equipped?"
"Hmm... Lets see, you already got a rune equipped...." The Runemaster said "I suppose I can try..."
"Whoa!" The Runemaster stated before Kinnison could speak "This is a Blinking Rune! Quite Rare.. and Unreliable, sure you want this one???"
"Umm.. I Guess so..." Kinnison answered "If it turns out so, I'll rely on my Rage Rune..."
"Alright..." The Runemaster sighed as he took the Rune and focused on Kinnison's left hand, unlike when he got the Rage Rune equipped, Kinnison felt his hand almost freeze. It soon warmed back up but felt rather numb afterwards "Well... there ya go.... be careful with that Rune... there very unstable....."
"Umm... Yeah, thanks" Kinnison said as he forked over 300 Potch, he then walked out and looked at the Rune. "Oh Blinking Rune.... Show me your Power!"
Kinnison was wisked away, he then appeared in a cavern at a battle scene where a Spiky Red haired kid, a Frog person and Blonde Woman in skimpy Fur clothes fighting a weird giant Bug thing. As Kinnison fell several feet from the air onto the creature, it squished and died. The three battling blinked in suprise at the archer who killed their foe, the red haired one walked up and began "Umm... Thanks for the help..."
"Ahh err... Ok" Kinnison said "My name is err... Kinnison, and you?"
"My name is Crono, the frog guy is Glenn, and the she is Ayda" Crono answered "Where'd you come from?"
"Ahh... South Window" Kinnison said "I qapeared here after using my Blinking Rune"
"Blinking What" Ayda asked "What that?"
"Umm well" Kinnsion fumbled "I just got it, it lets me teleport"
"Well.... could you teleport us to the End of time since you killed Lavos?" Crono asked "We crashed our ship...."
"I could try..." Kinnison said as he focused on his Rune, suddenly the four found themselves on a strange area, around them were strange looking people talking weird.
"We are the Borg, you will be Asii--" The things began, before they could finish, the four teleported away onto a flying ship, they glanced around to see a Guy slide down to grab a control and swear which the group didn't find to their liking as the slided around. A Rede Cat Dog like thing ran into them knocking them off the edge as they teleported once more, they then appeared is a dark area where an old man was sitting at a lamppost. Around him was a Princess, A Vampire dude, a strange Giant toy and a Vampire looking guy.
"Wrong Turn again..." Kinnison said as he looked at his Rune.
"No! Glenn cried "You hath located our destination, thank thee for thy kindness"
"Umm... Ok" Kinnison said "Well, Cya, I better try and get back, bye!"
With that Kinnison was gone as the threesome went and shared the news with their allies, while Kinnison used his last spell and found himself in a Prison Cell. He made a quick scan over the cell, he realized he was in the cell of the Mercenary Fort, he let out a sigh, then remembered the Note. "Oh... no......"
