Cobalt Blue is the son of Sapphire and heir to the throne of Turquoise. Being born after the timeline split, Cobalt's character varies significantly between the Good and Bad Timelines (with no current sightings in the Neutral Timeline). In addition to having a different father and year of birth in each, the Cobalt of the Bad Timeline has adopted the guise of the Gentleman in Red, while the Cobalt of the Good Timeline has inherited his father's uncanny ability to attract the backhanding of Masamune.
Though BT Cobalt should be ten years younger than GT Cobalt, as of The OGers: The Third Generation they are the same age. The Donkeyman loved his son greatly, but with his many duties was unable to spend much time with him. Thus, the six year old Cobalt swore to become a crewman for his father as he escorted the souls of lost sailors to Fiddler's Green. After a decade of service, Cobalt returned to Turquoise ten years older while the world around him had not progressed. Totally not made up on the spot.
