Mamumin is in fact the Mamuta equivalent of a Bulbmin. Some time ago, a Mamuta was infected by a parasitic Pikmin and bore offspring akin to itself, one of these being the Mamumin from the Pikmin OG. He attempted to fit in with other Mamutas around him, but found it too hard to coexist with them and ran off.

He then ran into the Garden featured in the story. Having a narrow-minded opinion of all Pikmin as sheep, Mamumin pushed past them without a thought and broke down a wall that they had been attempting to destroy all day. Wulfmin took note of this and followed Mamumin, hoping to recruit him. Though unnerved by Wulfmin's inventiveness, Mamumin did join the Garden under the strict command that he not be worshipped.

This did not agree with Prophmin, who had thought of Mamumin as a messiah; half-Pikmin and half-Mamuta. When Mamumin continued to refuse to be messianic, Prophmin came to the conclusion that he was actually a false prophet and tried to abandon the Garden. After an unfortunate encounter with the Nightmin, Prophmin was prevented from running and rescued by Mamumin, though he still refuses to give Mamumin any respect.
