Background (Pokemon: OG Version)

Rett lived in the lost village of the north until 1994, at that time it was obliterated by time traveling walruses (Which could also just be called Walrein, but anyway). He became the sole survivor of Walrus War II, and decided to head down south on a convoy bound for America. While on the journey he tamed his first Pokemon, Articur, who he found rummaging through his belongings after coming back from the bathroom. When he finally made it to America, he went on a journey of self discovery with Articur. Although Articur gained more than enough experience while on the journey to evolve, Rett kept him the way he was using B (Which got annoying after a while, so he bought an Everstone at a nearby Poke mart).

At one time he saved the life of a Pokemon League official, after a traumatic battle with another Walrein. The Official then offered that he become a Gym Leader, explaining that they lacked an 8th Gym Leader (And it even came with a free house and shiny badge, who could refuse?). Rett finally settled in Iceburg in 1997, but never got a challenge because every trainer nowadays is just catching Pokemon instead of competing for badges. So Rett went off once again with Articur to explore the continent. He had only just gotten started when he ran into Luiigii in the Forest of the Pipes. After saving him from a wild Tilossal, Rett began to journey with Luiigii on his Pokemon journey.
