Gobmin was a Red Pikmin that served under the Olimar and traveled with Wulfmin's group. Inside of a rotting log, they found a white Candypop Bud that they speculated might make them an Alpha Pikmin. However, since the risk was losing their memories, Gobmin offered to jump into the flower himself so that Wulfmin would still be allowed to lead. Before being plucked, he was allowed to wait in the ground long enough to let his flower bloom.

Upon being plucked, he somehow remembered his name, but nothing else. Unlike the other White Pikmin, he had a habit of producing poisonous clouds when he talked. He created a pipe to contain this, as well as a chestnut 'hat' for his own reasons.
