Conception and Overview
The topic was originally started by Golem with the concept of several Author Characters uniting to defeat Metal Mario. Metal Mario was initially offended as being cast as a villain but eventually went along with the others. The actual story was started in the second post by Luigi 64, who jettisoned from the group and later returned to mock the Party Goers.
The story became the genesis of the Party Goers series. The "What do you wanna do?" and "Eat at Joe's" bits in this OG are frequently referenced in later OGs and spin-offs.
Plot Summary
Golem and Luigi 64 are hanging around at Luigi's place bored until Golem comes up with the idea of throwing a party. They board Luigi 64's "sweet-ass ride" and buy party supplies at the Arab Dude's Party Store. There they are confronted by Metal Mario and his sidekick Bomberman, who do not like the story and threaten to blow it up with a Bombinator.
Golem and Luigi 64 decide to throw their party at Las Vegas and start to drive there after being joined by a pair of girls, Sapphire and Zora. Metal Mario and Bomberman team up with a fellow villain named Magikoopa and plan to use Magikoopa's Flying Submarine to aid their feud with the so-called Party Goers. The three villains, calling themselves the Bombsy Bombarders, plot to find some way to make the Party Goers blow up the story against their will in order to gain true revenge. They decide the best way to do this is through a hostage.
The Party Goers soon arrive in Vegas and spend time at a casino. The Bombsy Bombarders choose this time to strike and inititate a series of plans for kidnapping Party Goers, most of which fail. Eventually they succeed in capturing Sapphire and they threaten to kill her if the others do not blow up the story. At one point Magikoopa offers to spare her if she joins their villain team, but she refuses. Zora decides to try rescuing Sapphire, but Luigi does not care and is dead-set on throwing his party. Golem chooses to help Zora, but Zora winds up being captured as well. Golem finally convinces Luigi 64 to leave the party and help him. They engage the Bombsy Bombarders in a game of Super Smash Bros. to decide the fate of the story, but the game is called off after the sub is hit by lightning and crashes. The Party Goers escape, but Bomberman is able to order a new Flying Sub, and the chase begins anew.
Golem, Sapphire and Zora all decide that to prove that they're not worthless and can be things other than hostages. At the same time Luigi 64 is captured by gas-spitting girl robots, but the other Party Goers let them take him. As for the Bombsy Bombarders, they decide to win over the girls in a different way by getting jobs at the MGM Grand and using the money to buy Sapphire and Zora's trust. However, all of these plans are put on hold when Luigi 64 gets sick of the whole story and detonates the Bombinator.
The Bombinator seems to be a dud, but Luigi 64 and Zora are never seen again after its detonation. Golem, Sapphire and Arab Dude return to Maryland to throw a party at Golem's house. The Bombsy Bombarders once again appear to spoil their fun. But this time, a golden flaming chariot appears and takes Metal Mario "to a better story" (although it is suggested that Metal Mario is dying and being taking to Heaven, it is later retconned in Party Goers 11: When Sidekicks Kick Back that Metal Mario was instead taken to Vorpal's Sky Palace). Magikoopa and Bomberman continue to pursue Golem and Sapphire. However Sapphire is able to steal their Flying Sub and flies it away. Magikoopa and Bomberman corner Golem, finally ready to blow up the story, but Golem is able to end the story by shouting out "The End" before the Bombinator can be set off.
