'''Arbok''' is the evolved form of [[Ekans]] introduced in the first generation Pokémon games.

=Information=

Arbok evolves from Ekans at Level 22. It is a terrifically strong cobra-like creature that can constrict most things with its body, even capable of flattening steel oil drums. Once it wraps its body around a foe, escape is said to be impossible. It is also well-known for the face-like pattern on its belly, which it uses to transfix its prey before binding and poisoning it. Weak foes will flee just at the sight of it. It has been rumored that these frightening warning marks differ from area to area, with studies conforming at six different variations. 

One method of intimidation is to spread its chest wide and make eerie sounds by expelling air from its mouth. Arbok is also known for its vengeful nature. It will never give up the chase once it targets its prey, no matter how far it goes. Likely because of this vicious nature and its poisonous abilities, it is commonly used by members of criminal organizations such as [[Team Rocket]].

In ''[[Pokémon: Gold and Silver Versions|Silver]]'' and ''[[Pokémon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions|SoulSilver]]'', Arbok could be found at Routes 3, 4, 22 and 28, and in ''SoulSilver'' it additionally appears at Routes 26 and 27 as well as the Marshland area of the Safari Zone. In ''[[Pokémon: Crystal Version|Crystal]]'', Arbok could be found at Routes 3, 4, 26, 27, 28 and 42 as well as Mt. Silver.

In ''[[Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Versions|Diamond, Pearl]]'' and ''[[Pokémon: Platinum Version|Platinum]]'', Arbok could be found through the Dongle method, appearing at the Great Marsh whenever the ''FireRed'' cartridge was inserted in the GBA slot after the National Pokédex was unlocked.

Arbok appears in ''[[Pokémon Pinball]]'', where it is gotten by evolving Ekans. Arbok also appeared in ''[[Pokémon Puzzle League]]'' as one of the Pokémon in Team Rocket's roster. It also appears in ''[[Pokémon Stadium]]'', ''[[Pokémon Stadium 2]]'' and ''[[Pokémon Colosseum]]''. In ''[[Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness]]'', a Shadow Arbok could be snagged from an enemy trainer at Cipher Key Lair. After being purified, this Arbok could be transferred to any of the third generation color versions.

In ''[[Pokémon Trozei!]]'', Arbok could be found at Secret Storage 18 and Mr. Who's Den. In ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams]]'' it could only be gained through evolution, while in ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness|Explorers of Time and Darkness]]'' it appeared on the first nine floors of Shimmer Desert. A non-playable Arbok also appeared as part of Team AWD, a group of thieves that first appeared searching for clues about Zero Isle in ''Explorers'', then they appeared as the antagonists that Team Charm had to battle in the "Here Comes Team Charm!" episode of ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky]]''.

In ''[[Pokémon Ranger]]'', it appeared at Sekra Mountain Range. Arbok also appeared in ''[[Pokémon Rumble]]'', where it could be found at Rocky Cave.

==In Other Media==

*Within the Pokémon anime series, Jessie's own Ekans evolved into an Arbok partway through the Kanto series, at the same time that James's [[Koffing]] evolved into a [[Weezing]]. Although they were menacing at first, they soon were dispatched as easily as their pre-evolved forms by Ash and his friends. Arbok and Weezing still remained as the main Team Rocket Pokémon for several more season until early into the Hoenn episodes, when Arbok and Weezing wound up staying behind to protect a group of wild Ekans and Koffing from poachers.
*In the Pokémon Adventures manga, [[Koga]] and [[Agatha]] both owned Arbok that they used in battle. Koga's was notable for its regenerative properties, even re-growing part of its own head at one point. Agatha's could switch between several patterns which gave it different abilities, such as one that increased its attack and another that raised its defense.
*In the ''Electric Tale of Pikachu'' manga, Jessie's Arbok appears as her primary Pokémon just as in the early anime.
