She was featured and recruited in Chapter 3 of the Main Story. She was initially training with [[Blaine]] at the volcano area of [[Pasio]] in hopes of becoming as awesome as her grandfather. When the player's team arrived looking for a new member, Blaine suggested that they battle all of trainers in the area, with Flannery being the final trainer. After Flannery was defeated, Blaine convinced her that she would grow stronger by working with others, and so Flannery decided to join Scottie/Bettie's team. Blaine also declared that he would form his own team, because he looked forward to battling her under this league's rules. Flannery also appeared in the "Reach for the Top" Story Event, in which she fought on a team with Scottie/Bettie and [[Blue]], and she ultimately decided to train with [[Bruno]].
