*'''[[Ross]]''' - In their first conversation, Ross approaches Gerik hoping that the mercenary would teach him a few skills, explaining that he wants to be able to live up to the title of 'Son of Garcia'. Later Ross asks Gerik if he's ever been on a sea voyage and Gerik explains that when he went that the sea sickness was more brutal than the enemies they went to face. When Ross asks how he should become stronger, Gerik replies that it's all in the mind. Ross realizes that by thinking it was impossible to beat Gerik in a duel, he had been setting himself up for defeat. In their last conversation, Ross asks Gerik why the sword is stronger than the axe, explaining that he would like to be able to shatter a silver sword with an iron axe. Gerik relates to him when he first met Garcia in battle and how he had been so intimidated that he lost the duel as a result. Ross is emboldened and declares that he's not just the son of Garcia, but also the best student of Gerik.

*'''Saleh''' - The mercenary greets Saleh, remarking how unusual it is the two of them are working together. Saleh begins to ask Gerik a question, but changes the subject. When they speak again, Gerik brings up the elder of Caer Pelyn and says that Saleh should be more considerate to his grandmother, not just by taking care of her, but by doing something nice for her like buying her some jewelry. In their last conversation, Saleh finally comes out and asks if Gerik hates him for what happened to Gerik's friend, whom Saleh had accidentally killed in an old battle. Gerik however insists that he's forgiven Saleh for that and that as mercenaries it just comes with the job. Saleh says that Gerik is a good man, but Gerik dismisses it and insists that when it's all over, he'll go visit Caer Pelyn and let Saleh throw a feast for him.

*'''Joshua''' - When Joshua approaches Gerik, he comments on the mercenary's past accomplishments and mentions that he wants to propose a job, but wants to wait until later so he doesn't mess things up. In their next conversation, Gerik brings up Joshua's love for gambling. Despite Joshua's firm belief in his own luck, Gerik points out that luck isn't the only determining factor in things and that it should not be blamed for failures or mistakes. Though Joshua thinks it's a good point, he says he will continue to trust in his own luck. When they speak again, Gerik accuses Joshua of taking advantage of his men when they gamble and asks him to stop. He then makes a bet to try and win it back. Joshua enthusiastically agrees on the condition Gerik come work for him if he loses. When Joshua apparently wins, Gerik points out the coin switch and claims he's won instead. Joshua is surprised Gerik was able to see his trick and the mercenary reveals he used to do a lot of gambling in his past, despite feigning disinterest in it during their earlier conversations. Despite that, Joshua offers that the two of them should have a duel after the war and that if he wins, Gerik will come work for him.
