'''Glacia''' is the third member of [[Hoenn]]'s [[Elite Four]] who appeared as an opponent in the third generation games of the ''[[Portal: Pokémon|Pokémon]]'' series: ''[[Pokémon: Ruby and Sapphire Versions|Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire]]'' and ''[[Pokémon: Emerald Version|Pokémon: Emerald Versions]]'' as well as in ''[[Pokémon: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire|Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire]]''. She specializes in Ice-type Pokémon.

=Background=

Glacia hailed from an unspecified faraway land, which was implied to be a place with a cooler climate. She traveled to Hoenn in order to hone her ice skills, because she believed that her Ice Pokémon would become stronger when trained in the hot climate of Hoenn. In battle, her specialty was using items to help and described her Pokémon as flawing passion in the icy cold. As a member of the Elite Four, she seemed unimpressed with all the "challenges from weak trainers and their Pokémon".

When challenged by [[Brendan]]/[[May]], she hoped the trainer would be good enough for her to go all-out on, and she wound up being defeated by this young trainer. She then commended the trainer for their fiery spirit, saying that her icy skills were no match for them, and she sent them to the next room where she said that the trainer would face "the truly fearsome side of the Pokémon League".

In ''Omega Ryby'' and ''Alpha Sapphire'', she utilized Mega Evolutions when challenged to rematches, as Steven Stone had provided the Elite Four with Key Stones. She believed that Mega Evolution was a force that could thaw anything. After being defeated, she wondered if Brendan/May intended to thaw her heart and claimed that it would not bother her if they did.

In ''[[Pokémon Masters EX]]'', Glacia and her Glalie appeared as a playable sync pair that could be recruited at random through the game's Sync Pair Scout feature after being added in November 2019. Her Glalie could Mega Evolve into Mega Glalie by using a sync move in battle. When fought as an opponent, she sometimes sycned with other Pokémon such as [[Froslass]] and [[Walrein]]. Glacia has made minor appearances in some of the game's events, and she has also appeared as one of the opponents faced in the Champion Stadium's Hoenn Challenge, which used the Elite Four line-ups from different regions.

*Glacia appeared in the ''Pokémon Adventures'' manga, when [[Steven Stone]] summoned her with the rest of the Hoenn Elite Four to aid in awakening the legendary Pokémon to battle [[Groudon]] and [[Kyogre]]. Glacia captured [[Regice]] for them and controlled it with [[Phoebe]] during the battle. She later reappeared in the ''Omega Ruby''/''Alpha Sapphire'' arc, where she helped with the effort to destroy the Delta Meteor.

=Trivia=

*Her English name is a simple play on "glacier". Her Japanese name is Purim, which could be named after 'Primula' or 'primrose'
*In an odd coincidence, the Pokémon [[Glaceon]] has "Glacia" as its Japanese name.
*In ''Omega Ruby'' and ''Alpha Sapphire'', she is the only member of Hoenn's Elite Four to never make an appearance outside of the Elite Four's headquarters in Ever Grande City.
*According to someone at the Mauville Food Court, Glacia has been seen eating ramen noodles in the area at such a speed that she was left sweating.
