=Background=

Jill was raised in the Talrega region of Daein during the rule of King [[Ashnard]]. Thus she had a skewed upbringing and was taught propaganda such as the laguz being bloodthirsty enemies. Jill later became a soldier in the Daein army in hopes of impressing her father, the famed General [[Shiharam]]. She wound up being attached to the unit of Shiharam's subordinate and friend, [[Haar]], but Jill was often annoyed by his laziness.

In "Chapter 11: Blood Runs Red", when reports rose of laguz in Port Toha, Jill attempted to rouse Haar into action, but he saw no point in it while the other Daein soldiers were handling it and resumed his napping. Afterwards, they were ordered to withdraw and return home. However, Jill wanted to hunt down the laguz in order to prove her worth to her father. So she sneaked away by herself and pursued the ship which the laguz and [[Ike]]'s mercenary group were riding, even though she knew it would probably be impossible to turn back. Jill came to them while they were in the middle of a battle with crow laguz in "Chapter 12: Strange Lands". She called a truce with Ike in order to fight them off. Afterwards, she was confused when she saw evidence that laguz were actually good, and the seeds of doubt for the beliefs she had been raised with were planted. Seeing no harm in her, Ike allowed her to stay on the term that she did not call the laguz by the derogative term "sub-beast".

Jill stayed with Ike's group even after their arrival in Begnion due to her increasing doubts about her upbringing. She even made some friends, such as [[Mist]], although she was reluctant to befriend her former enemies. She continued serving them after they became the Crimean Liberation Army and marched into battle with Daein. Early in the conquest, Jill was visited by Captain Haar. He understood her explanation and left her to continue onwards, while warning her that he and Shiharam would be their enemies in future battles. The mercenaries eventually battled Shiharam in "Chapter 20: Defending Talrega". Shiharam was killed during the battle, and Ike claimed responsibility for his death while apologizing to Jill. She later thanked Ike for providing provisions to the people of Talrega, but was disturbed at how distrustful of the Crimean help some Talregans were.

Even though she lost her father, Jill could convince Haar to switch over to the Crimean side in "Chapter 23: The Great Bridge". After the war ended, Jill thanked Ike for showing her the error of her ways and promised to never forget about him.

*'''Haar-''' In the first conversation, Jill and Haar converse what Jill should refer to Haar as now that he no longer is her superior, and she finally decides on Mr. Haar. In the second conversation, Jill and Haar start out arguing but wind up reminiscing about Shiharam and how Jill wasn't so uptight around him while Haar did not act as lazy in his presence. Haar then finds a nice piece of ground and asks to be left alone for nap time. In the third conversation, they discuss their plans after the war. Jill wants to return to Daein and be near her father's grave, while Haar also plans to guard his grave or something if he survives his duel with [[Ashnard]]. Jill then thinks Haar would be unhappy being with her, but Haar says he thought Jill wouldn't be happy with him. They then agree to start a wyvern courier service together after the war, if they survive.
*'''[[Lethe]]-''' Jill nervously approaches Lethe and asks her why laguz don't wield weapons, and Lethe replies that laguz need no weapons because they are born ready to fight. She then asks Lethe why she hates the humans so much, but Lethe asks her to first tell her why the humans hate the laguz, and when Jill says it is because the laguz are their enemy, Lethe takes offense and says they hate the humans like they hate all their enemies, and she leaves. In the next conversation, Jill returns and tells Lethe her story about how she was raised in Daein to consider the laguz bloodthirsty enemies, but after seeing Lethe and other laguz working alongside Ike she had a crisis of conscience which made her realize that laguz were more like humans than beasts. Jill wonders why the beorc and laguz started fighting in the first place, at which point Lethe tells her the backstory of beorc-laguz conflicts starting with the laguz slavery. In the final conversation, Lethe had learned that the General Shiharam is Jill's father and asks her why she stayed with them instead of rejoining him, but Jill said she could not defect to Daein now that she knew the truth. Lethe is impressed by this and asks Jill to shake her hand, saying she know it was a beorc custom, and she begins to think beorcs and laguz can get along together through compromise.
*'''Mist-''' Jill refuses to eat dinner with Mist and the others because she thinks the others would be uncomfortable eating with a Daein soldier, but Mist says that the others don't mind and that she is glad to have someone her age traveling with her. Mist then decides to bring the food to Jill. In the next conversation, Jill compliments Mist's cooking and when Jill again asks why Mist is being so nice to a Daein soldier, Mist says she wants to be her friend. There are two different versions of the conversation, depending on what point in the game the conversation takes place in. Jill talks about the laguz and how wrong she realized she was about them after witnessing the revival of Serenes Forest. In the first version, Jill feels that her father would be ashamed of her, but Mist assures her that no father would feel that way, and both of them broke out into tears about their fathers and Jill tells Mist that she makes her sorrows go away. In the second version (taking place after Chapter 20), she feels betrayed by her father, but Mist tells her that her father must have thought he was doing the right thing, and once more they break out into tears. Jill then feels better about her father but decides to choose her own path in life.

Jill also has an in-built Support bonus with Shiharam (which increases Jill's chances of performing a critical hit when he is nearby or vice-versa).
