Jill was raised in the Talrega region of Daein during the rule of King Ashnard. Thus she had a skewed upbringing and was taught propaganda such as the laguz being bloodthirsty enemies. Jill later became a soldier in the Daein army in hopes of impressing her father, the famed General Shiharam. She wound up being attached to the unit of Shiharam's subordinate and friend, Haar, but Jill was often annoyed by his laziness.

In "Chapter 11: Blood Runs Red", when reports rose of laguz in Port Toha, Jill attempted to rouse Haar into action, but he saw no point in it while the other Daein soldiers were handling it and resumed his napping. Afterwards, they were ordered to withdraw and return home. However, Jill wanted to hunt down the laguz in order to prove her worth to her father. So she sneaked away by herself and pursued the ship which the laguz and Ike's mercenary group were riding, even though she knew it would probably be impossible to turn back. Jill came to them while they were in the middle of a battle with crow laguz in "Chapter 12: Strange Lands". She called a truce with Ike in order to fight them off. Afterwards, she was confused when she saw evidence that laguz were actually good, and the seeds of doubt for the beliefs she had been raised with were planted. Seeing no harm in her, Ike allowed her to stay on the term that she did not call the laguz by the derogative term "sub-beast".

Even though she lost her father, Jill could convince Haar to switch over to the Crimean side in "Chapter 23: The Great Bridge". After the war ended, Jill thanked Ike for showing her the error of her ways and promised to never forget about him.

Jill and Haar then started their own wyvern courier service together. However, over the next three years Daein suffered under the oppression of the Begnion Occupational Army's rule. This led Haar to ditch Daein, but Jill remained behind to protect her country. She wound up being called in by Izuka to join the Daein Liberation Army. There Jill grew closer to some of her allies from the Crimean Liberation Army whom had joined up with the Daein Liberation Army, Tauroneo and Zihark.

In Radiant Dawn, Jill was first seen fighting alongside Tauroneo and Zihark against Begnion soldiers to defend the Daein Liberation Army's base within the Desert of Death in "Chapter 5: The Lost Heir" of "Part 1: Silver-Haired Maiden". Afterwards, she fought under Micaiah's command in "Chapter 6: Raise the Standard", "Chapter 7: Gathering Hope" and "Endgame: Daein, Arise!". She also spoke with Micaiah in a Base Conversation of "Chapter 9: One Survives", showing concern over Micaiah's growing fatigue while talking about her writing a letter to Haar telling him it would be safe to return to Daein, and she gave Micaiah a Pass scroll. After Daein's battle for independence was won, Jill remained part of Daein's Royal Army to stay close to her friends and support her country.

However, the Daein army was later mobilized to assist Begnion in attacking the fleeing soldiers of the Laguz Alliance Army in "Part 3: Intersecting Vows". In the Base Conversation of "Chapter 6: A Reason to Fight", Micaiah gave Jill a Brave Axe to use in the coming battles. However, Jill considered the war to be madness and was greatly irritated by the lack of reasoning shown by King Pelleas. She could be convinced to cede over to the Laguz Alliance side if Haar spoke to her in "Chapter 7: Rivals Collide" (Mist could also convince her if they had an A Support transferred from the previous game).

After the wars ended and Micaiah became queen of Daein, Micaiah ceded Talrega to Jill.  She used her fathers ideals to bring prosperity to her people and her land. Additionally, if she has an A Rank Support with Haar, the two were married.

In Radiant Dawn, Jill has an automatic Bond Support with Mist and Haar.

Trivia
*Unused Support data for Path of Radiance indicates that Jill was originally intended to also have support conversations with Elincia.
