Evidence to support this includes the fact that the two share the same weight and origin, Doc Louis notes between matches with Disco Kid that "this kid is quick", and the files on the Wii disc label him as kid_quick. Next Level Games have also remarked that Disco Kid was originally an existing ''Punch-Out!!'' character, but because of the drastic change in personality he was renamed to Disco Kid.
