Pigma Dengar is a recurring enemy from the Star Fox series who is known for his greedy and traitorous nature. He is a traitor of the original Star Fox team and a former member of Star Wolf. His greed has also caused him to transform into different kinds of grotesque monsters in two of his appearances.
+
Pigma Denger was an evil greedy swine who would do anything for cash.

Original Continuity
+
Pigma Dengar was previously a member of the original Star Fox team. When the team was sent in to investigate Andross's growing fleet, Pigma betrayed the team for money. Due to formation of a new Star Fox, Pigma joined the Star Wolf team. The Star Wolf team encountered Star Fox on Fichina while leading a fleet of Venomian ships, at which point Pigma targeted his former wingmate, Peppy Hare. Despite their advantage, the Star Wolf team was defeated. They fight again on Bolse, only to lose yet again. After most of Andross's forces had been defeated, Star Wolf arrived to defend Venom and were defeated yet again.

When the team was sent in to investigate Andross's growing fleet, Pigma betrayed the team for money, which lead to the presumed death of James McCloud. Due to formation of a new Star Fox, Pigma joined the Star Wolf team. Years later in Star Fox 64, the Star Wolf team encountered Star Fox on Fichina while leading a fleet of Venomian ships, at which point Pigma targeted his former wingmate, Peppy Hare. Despite their advantage, the Star Wolf team was defeated. They fight again on Bolse, only to lose yet again. After most of Andross's forces had been defeated, Star Wolf arrived to defend Venom and were defeated a final time.

Afterwards, Pigma Dengar was kicked off the team due to his immense greed that disgusted the rest of the team. He took to flying alone, finding valuables to sell. This led him directly into trouble with the Aparoids on Katina in Star Fox Assault. As a result he issued a SOS that inevitably ended up having the Star Fox team show up to save him. However, he in turn stole the Core Memory left behind by one of the Aparoids. He was afterwards chased by the Star Fox team, but only as he began to fall under the control of the Aparoids. He was finally absorbed completely into the Aparoids, tranforming him into a giant space monster. However, he was defeated by the Star Fox team and died as a result of bonding with the Aparoids.

He was finally absorbed completely into the Aparoids, transforming him into a giant space monster. He was defeated by the Star Fox team and seemingly died as a result of bonding with the Aparoids.

Pigma's spirit survived, however, and presumably using the remains of his monstrous self created a new form that consisted of four massive cubes. Pigma sought revenge against Star Fox (though he was willing to spare or even assist Star Wolf) at Sector X if Falco decides to search for Krystal, or at Sector Y if Wolf steals the neutralizing device from Fox and Falco. Either way, the attack prevents the respective characters from participating in the attack against the Anglar empire.

Pigma's spirit survived, however, and presumably using the remains of his monstrous self created a new form that consisted of four massive cubes.  He appeared in this form in Star Fox Command. Pigma sought revenge against Star Fox, while being willing to spare or even assist Star Wolf. He was found and battled at Sector X if Falco decided to search for Krystal, or at Sector Y if Wolf stole the neutralizing device from Fox and Falco. In either scenario, he was defeated, but the attack prevented Falco (as well as Fox in the latter scenario) from participating in the attack against the Anglar empire.

Star Fox Zero
In this version of continuity, Pigma was never an official member of Star Fox. Rather, he was sent by Andross to pose as a volunteer pilot for the mission on Venom. Pigma still betrayed James and caused his disappearance.

Within Zero, he appeared as a recurring boss and a member of Star Wolf. He first showed up at Area 3 to provide backup for Caiman, but he retreated after taking enough damage. He later fought Star Fox at Sector β with Andrew and Leon, where they held off Star Fox long enough for Wolf to arrive. Pigma and Andrew could also potentially appear at Sector α as an optional boss. Finally, Star Wolf was faced at Venom's pocket dimension, where their Wolfen fighters transformed into Hunter mechas.

Video Games
*In the Super Smash Bros. series, Pigma has been represented by a sticker (from Assault) in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U and as an Advanced-rank Support Spirit (using his Assault appearance) in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. His Spirit's Support effect was to raise the power of any projectile weapons used by the player character. When fought in a Spirit battle, Pigma's Spirit would possess Wario, in a battle where he attempted to evade the player's fighter while being protected by Wolf and became faster when badly damaged. Pigma was also briefly seen in the opening cutscene of the Adventure Mode, among the various beings being turned into Spirits by Galeem's beams of light.

Other Media
*In the Lylat Wars comic based on Star Fox 64, Pigma and Andrew were portrayed as being afraid of Andross's wrath and being punished for their bumbling failures. They tried acting on their own, resulting in Wolf opening fire on them and kicking them out of Star Wolf for disobeying his orders.

Trivia
Trivia
*His surname, "Dengar", is actually a reference to the Kansai dialect that he speaks with in the Japanese version, in which people often end their sentences by saying "dengar" (rather than being named after a Star Wars bounty hunter as commonly believed). His first name of Pigma may be a play on the word "dogma".
+
*He and Krystal are the only characters to have been in both Star Fox and Star Wolf.
*Pigma was initially created for Star Fox 2, which was initially canceled and was not released until the release of the Super NES Classic in 2017. In this game, he was among the Star Wolf characters who appeared as bosses.

*The Super Smash Bros. games mention some additional information about Pigma, although it is unclear if it is truly canon. In his trophy description in the 3DS/Wii U game, it is said that it was he who convinced Wolf to form Star Wolf. The Wolfen trophy's description also credits him with designing the Wolfen starfighters and describes him as a "shameless mechanic".
