Starly usually flock in great numbers due to how weak and barely noticeable they are individually. However, if their numbers grow too big they are overcome by bickering. Starly usually flock around mountains and fields in pursuit of bug Pokémon which they feed on. Their cries and songs are noisy and annoying. Starly is small but capable of flapping its wings with great power.

Starly evolves into Staravia at Level 14.

*In the Pokémon anime, Ash caught a Starly during the second episode of the Sinnoh series and managed to put it to several uses until it evolved into Staravia a little over ten episodes later. Starly have also made various minor appearances, including one episode where Paul caught several Starly and released them all due to deeming them weak, even one that could easily beat Ash's Starly.

*In the ''Pokémon Adventure'' manga, the first chapter of the ''Diamond''/''Pearl'' arc featured Platina being attacked by a flock of Starly, and Diamond and Pearl wound up protecting her.

=Trivia=

*Its name is simply a play on "starling", the bird it is based on.

*A trophy of Starly appears in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''.
