Boah is a character who appears as a playable unit in Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi, Book 1 of Monshou no Nazo, BS Fire Emblem: Akaneia Senki and Shadow Dragon, as well as having a supporting role in Book Two of Monshou no Nazo,
Background
Boah was the elderly royal bishop of Archanea. He was wise and looked after the younger Princess Nyna, Astram and Midia, although he also was stuck in old conventions.
BS Fire Emblem
When Archanea's Millenial Palace was invaded by General Camus's men, Boah was ordered to retreat with Nyna by the king. Nyna at first refused, so Boah used a Sleep spell on her. She awoke soon after they were ambushed by Camus's men. Boah believed surrender was their only option, but Nyna and Midia convinced him that they had to try to fight them off. However, after Camus personally stepped into battle, they were overwhelmed and forced to surrender, with Boah and Midia imprisoned together within the palace.
Book One
They remained imprisoned there until Marth and his army came to free them in Chapter 12 (10 SNES). They then joined with Marth's army for the remainder of the War of Darkness. Boah also had a special conversation with Astram discussing the future of Archanea, and Boah believed that the people needed a foreign king (which they would ultimately get in the form of Hardin). After the war ended, Boah was able to resume his duties as royal bishop and helped everyone to recover from the war.
Book Two
It is suggested that Boah is one of the forces who pressured Nyna into picking a husband soon after the war, and she chose Hardin as Camus was believed dead as well as Boah considering them marrying to be unspeakable and even unthinkable. Boah did feel bad about pressuring Nyna into a marriage with someone she did not love, but he saw it as essential to preserving the future of the country. Over the next three years, Boah witnessed firsthand the degeneration of Hardin and Nyna's marriage and was one of the few who knew the full story (aside from the part involving the Dark Orb). After Nyna was locked in her room by Hardin, Boah secretly passed along messages to and from Nyna and acted as her sole contact with the outside world. However, after Camus discovered this, he gravely wounded Boah and sent Nyna away to Gharnef.
Marth and his men came across the wounded Boah at the end of Chapter 19. He explained everything he knew to them and gave them the Thoron and Reblow tomes to help them in their final battles. Boah apologized for focusing on restoring Archanea and making such a horrible mistake, saying that it would not matter if Archanea was destroyed as long as Nyna was safe. It is likely that he died from this wound, as he was not seen or mentioned again in the game.
Trivia
- In Shadow Dragon, he receives Support Bonuses from Marth, Midia and Astram.
