Grubba is the manager of the Glitz Pit who acts as the boss of the third chapter in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Background

Grubba is one of those classic stars who rise from poverty to become rich and famous. He became a champion of the Glitz Pit and, as he got older, retired to become the promoter.

But Grubba still sought more power. He used a special machine powered by one of the Crystal Stars, the Gold Star, to suck the energy out of Glitz Pit fighters and channel it into his own, giving him a more youthful appearance. He winds up secretly pumping himself up every night in the arena. Whenever a fighter walked in on him, Grubba would have them drained by the machine and make them disappear. Among the missing fighters were Prince Mush, the Glitz Pit's first champion.

But Grubba finally met his match in the form of the Great Gonzalez. After Gonzalez discovered Grubba's secret, Grubba powered himself up as much as possible- becoming a monstrous giant orange creature called Macho Grubba. As Macho Grubba he could increase the number of times he attacked per turn and also constantly increased his stats. But the Great Gonzalez was a resourceful fighter and finally thwarted Grubba. Even though he had lost, Grubba congratulated the Great Gonzalez on his fight.
