X is an early 3D title for the Game Boy. Originally, the game was going to be published by Mindscape, but Nintendo was so impressed with it, they published it themselves. The game was originally going to be called Eclipse or Lunar Chase, but Hiroshi Yamauchi renamed it X.
Gameplay[edit]
The player flies a ship from the first person perspective. Instruments to measure altitude and direction are given to help the player find their way. The player must roam each level searching for enemies to destroy. The player has a limited amount of fuel. If the ship is destroyed or runs out of fuel, the game is over.
Legacy[edit]
- The song from the tunnel scene was included in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
- It will be followed up by a sequel for DSiWare called X-Scape.
