Patrat is a common rodent-like Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation Pokémon games. Its evolved form is Watchog.

Information

These small Pokémon resemble chipmunks and usually live in groups. They are an extremely cautious species to the point where they take shifts as lookout to maintain a constant watch over their nest. They feel insecure without a lookout. One Patrat is able to keep watch for days due to its ability to store food in its cheeks. They use their tails to communicate with others.

It evolves into Watchog at Level 20.

Appearances

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Patrat are commonly found on Routes 1, 2 and 3 as well as in the Dreamyard.

Other Appearances

Other Media

  • Since the Pokémon anime began its Black and White-based series, Patrat have begun to make various, primarily minor appearances, as wandering packs and as Pokémon belonging to several trainers.

Trivia

  • Its name is a combination of "patrol" and "rat" which may also be intended as a play on "packrat".
