3DS Download Software is the name given to the original downloadable software available for the 3DS through its eShop. The primary difference between these and the DSiWare games is that they have the stereoscopic 3D of the 3DS system. This line of games was initially speculated to be known as "3DSWare" due to its superficial similarities to DSiWare. Nintendo ultimately chosen to simply refer to it as Nintendo 3DS Download Software instead, to set it apart from DSiWare. Additionally, this software has been released at a much lower frequency.
