Sheriff is a classic arcade game created by Nintendo in 1979.

Story

A young lady from your town has been kidnapped by bandits. It's up to you to save her.

Gameplay

In Sheriff, the player must shoot all of the bandits on screen in order to move on to the next. Usually, they stay on the edges and move in a circle, but once in a while, music plays and they rush toward the sheriff. Also, a condor sometimes appears; it can be shot for extra points.

The arcade had a joystick to move the sheriff and a control dial to aim his shoots, meaning a player could walk and shoot in two different directions.

Legacy

The sheriff from Sheriff is available in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a trophy and the game appears in the staff credits of Gameboy Camera. In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, one of 9-Volt's microgames were based on Sheriff]].

Ports and Remakes

  • In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, an updated version of Sheriff featuring Wario can be unlocked.
