Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! is the fourth of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong games (following the prior game which was relegated to DSiWare) which was released in 2010 and is the last installment for the Nintendo DS.

Story[edit]

Mario decides to celebrate the opening of the Mini-Mario Land with a giveaway of special Mini-Pauline toys to the first 100 customers. Donkey Kong is excited by this opportunity, but he winds up being the 101st customer. Enraged at being passed over, he kidnaps Pauline once again. Once more, Mario must resort to sending his Mini-Mario toys to battle Donkey Kong in his place to rescue Pauline.

Gameplay[edit]

This installment uses gameplay similar to the previous Mini-Mario games in that the player uses the touch screen to safely guide Mini-Marios to the end of a level, and objects can be moved to help them. It also follows the tradition of having multiple worlds followed by harder Plus Mode and features a Construction Mode which acts as a level editor. Levels that have been created can then be shared with others via Wi-Fi. This game also adds a Mini Guide, the latest variation of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii Super Guide, which can provide tips to struggling players.

Legacy[edit]

Sequels[edit]

It was followed by Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013.
