Debut The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons

Moosh is flying bear who acts as one of Link's three semi-playable animal partners in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

Background[edit]

Moosh is a large, blue-furred bear who was found in both Holodrum and Labrynna. He had a pair of small wings that allowed him to hover in the air. This allowed him to cross long stretches of pits. When hovering, he could also charge up energy to deliver a ground pound. He considered water to be his only weakness, as he claimed that he could not stand deep water, although shallow water was fine for him. He was also known for his love of bananas.

In Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, Moosh would meet and befriend Link. Depending on when/how Link obtained the Strange Flute item within the game, one of the three animal companions could later become Link's main animal companion. The Flute would become associated with the main animal and could be used to summon him.

In Oracle of Seasons, Moosh appeared at the Spool Swamp area if Link had obtained Strange Flute from the Horon Village Shop prior to meeting Ricky. If those conditions were met, then Moosh would be found being harrassed by Moblins, and he would thank Link for helping him by offering his aid, making the Strange Flute into Moosh's Flute. Link could later find Moosh again at Mt. Cucco, whether or not he had Moosh's Flute. There, Link had to bring Moosh some Spring Bananas from a neaby tree, and then Moosh would help Link to find the Dragon Key.

In Oracle of Ages, Moosh was found at the Yoll Graveyard and was initially being attacked by monsters. After Link saved him, Moosh would help him to navigate the surrounding area. Later in the game, the animal that would become Link's main companion got lost in the Fairies' Woods. That animal would be Moosh if Link had not obtained a Strange Flute by that point in the game. In that case, Moosh would give Link the flute as Moosh's Flute.

During the linked ending for both Oracle games, Moosh was seen flying around Link and then away while carrying a bunch of Spring Bananas. This scene was followed by an image of Link with all three of the animal friends.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Moosh appeared as a Novice-rank Suppport Spirit that granted the Instadrop ability. When fought against in a Spirit battle, Moosh's Spirit would possess a blue Bowser duplicate and focus on using his Bowser Bomb attack (which is similar to Moosh's ground pound).
