Croconaw is a crocodile-like Pokémon that was introduced in the second generation games. It is the middle form of second generation starter Pokémon Totodile's evolutionary line, with its evolved form being Feraligatr.
Information[edit]
Croconaw evolves from Totodile at Level 18 and is a more adolescent form of the bipedal blue crocodile-like Pokémon. It opens its jaws wide to attack and always has 48 fangs, growing new ones if it loses any. The tips of its fangs are slanted backwards, and its prey has no chance of escaping after it clamps down.
Croconaw evolves into Feraligatr at Level 30.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In all games, Croconaw can only be obtained through evolution, or by transferring it from Pokémon Colosseum.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Colosseum, a Shadow Croconaw could be snagged from a Cipher Peon in Phenac City, or later in the game if the player instead chooses to fight one of the other two peons (who have Shadow versions of the other second generation starter's first evolutions). This Croconaw, once purified, could be transferred to any of the third generation color versions. In Pokémon Trozei!, Croconaw could be found in Huge Storage 2 and Mr. Who's Den.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, Croconaw could be found on the twenty-seventh through twenty-ninth floors of Northwind Field and the thirtieth through thirty-ninth floors of Mt. Faraway. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, it was found on the first twenty-four basement floors of Lake Afar. In Pokémon Ranger, it could be found in the Underground Waterways. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it appeared at Sophian Road and the Dark Temple. Croconaw also appeared in Pokémon Rumble Blast at the Desolated Ruins.
Other Appearances[edit]
- Croconaw has made several mostly minor appearances throughout the Pokémon anime, such as one episode of the Diamond/Pearl season in which Ash and Dawn battled trainers who had Croconaw and Quilava in a double battle, and a character named Khoury had a Totodile which evolved into Croconaw. Marina also had a Croconaw that evolved from her starter in several of her appearances, before it evolved into Feraligatr.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Silver's Totodile evolved into Croconaw early into the Gold/Silver arc, at the Sprout Tower. It evolved into Feraligatr at the same time that other starters evolved into the final forms while defending their trainers from Lugia at the Whirl Islands.
