Surskit is a water bug-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. Its evolved form is Masquerin.

Information[edit]

Surskit secretes an oil from the tip of its feet which allows it to walk on water as it were skating. It also excretes a thick and sugary honey-like syrup from the top of its head when it senses danger. The syrup itself is delicious to some Pokémon, and its aroma is used to draw in prey. Surskit feed on microscopic organism that are found at lakes and ponds. They usually live at such bodies of water particularly when there are lots of weeds, although they gather at puddles in towns after evening downpours, where the Surskit glode across the puddles as if sliding.

It evolves into Masquerin at Level 22.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Ruby and Sapphire Versions, Surskit appeared only very rarely both on foot and when surfing at Routes 102, 111 (surfing only), 114, 117 and 120. In Diamond and Pearl, they could appear somewhat commonly at Lake Verity in swarms, while in Platinum it could be commonly found when surfing at Route 229. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it could be found at the Safari Zone's Plains, Wetland and Forest areas if enough Water objects (or Plains objects for the Wetland) were present. They also were found in White when surfing at the White Forest.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Surskit could be rarely found at the Cave Poké Spot, and after any Surskit that were caught could later be transferred to any of the third generation color versions. It could be hatched from an egg in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Secret Storage 4, Secret Storage 15, Endless Level 4 and Mr. Who's Den. It could be recruited in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams at the fourth through seventh floors of Waterfall Pond and in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness at the first eight basement floors of Waterfall Cave.
