Noctowl is a large owl Pokémon that was introduced in the second generation games. It is the evolved form of Hoothoot.
Information[edit]
Noctowl evolves from Hoothoot at Level 18. It has specially adapted eyes that can concentrate even faint light, enabling it to see in the dark. Their feathers are soft enough that they do not make noise in flight, allowing them to silently sneak up on prey without being detected. When it needs to think, it rotates its head 180 degrees to increase its thinking power, and it is also said to be engaged in complex thinking when it spins its head upside down. Like Hoothoot, it is nocturnal and appears primarily at night.
Appearances[edit]

In HeartGold and SoulSilver, they were also found by headbutting trees at the forests. They could also be found on the Pokéwalker's Quiet Cave course, from which they could be transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver.
