Seedot is an acorn-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the first in a three-stage evolutionary line, with its evolved forms being Nuzleaf and Shiftry.

Information

Seedot is a Pokémon that resembles an acorn with eyes and feet. They hang themselves from tree branches using their heads, at which point they can easily be confused with acorns, and suck moisture from the tree. This makes the Pokémon's body glossier. It also polishes its body on a daily basis using its leaves. When it finishes absorbing nutrients from a tree, Seedot becomes heavy enough that it falls to the ground.

As Seedot can easily be confused with acorns, when they remain still, they take pleasure in scaring and surprising Pokémon, such as foraging Pidgey, by suddenly moving. Seedot evolves into Nuzleaf at Level 14.

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Ruby Version, it is commonly found on Routes 102 and 114. In Emerald, it is rarely found on Routes 102, 117 and 120, and it could also be obtained by trading a Ralts to a trainer at Rustboro City.

In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, Seedot can be found with the Dongle method, appearing in Routes 203, 204 and 210 and Eterna Forest when a copy of Ruby is in the GBA slot. They can also be found in HeartGold and SoulSilver by headbutting trees in the Viridian Forest, and they could also appear in the Safari Zone's Meadow area if enough Plains objects were present. In White, it appeared at the White Forest.

Other Games

A Shadow Seedot can be snagged from Cipher Peon Greesix at the Shadow Pokémon Lab in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, and after being purified, this Seedot could then be traded to the GBA games. They appear in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, where they must be hatched from an egg, and Seedot could also appear on the field to activate Travel Mode. In Pokémon Trozei!, Seedot can be found in Secret Storage 13, Endless Level 28, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, they are found in the Uproar Forest and in the first nine floors of the Southern Cavern. Seedot also appear in Pokémon Ranger, where they are found in the Sekra Mountain Range. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness and Time, they are found in the Mystifying Forest, the Mystery Jungle and Happy Outlook. A non-playable Seedot also appears as part of Team Seedgey. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it could be found by tackling trees at Chicole Path.

• Seedot have shown up in several episodes of the Pokémon anime, one of which in the Hoenn series involved Professor Birch cheering up a trio of sad Seedot while another episode in the Sinnoh series featured a colony of Seedot and Nuzleaf.
• In the Pokémon Adventures manga, a Seedot made only a minor appearance during the Ruby/Sapphire arc belonging to a trainer whom Wallace rescued from a flood. It was also used by an opponent trainer at the Battle Factory during the Platinum arc but was quickly subdued by toxic spikes.

• Seedot's name seems to be a combination of "seed" and "tot" (due to it being small and young).
