Drapion is a monstrous scorpion-like Pokémon that was featured in the fourth generation games. It is the evolved form of Skorupi.

Information

Skorupi evolves into Drapion at Level 40. Its body is encased in a sturdy shell. Drapion's head can rotate 180 degrees, which eliminates blind spots. They take pride in their strength, and although the tips of their claws are poisonous like Skorupi's, they take down foes without using any toxins as an extension of this pride. Drapion has clawed arms on its head (growing from Skorupi's clawed horn-like protrusions) which are strong enough to scrap a car. Drapion usually attack people and Pokémon that cross the desert, which extends their bad reputation.

In Pokémon: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum Versions, Drapion could be found at the Great Marsh. In most other cases, Drapion could be obtained only through evolution.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Drapion could be recruited at the first six basement floors of Spacial Rift, and a non-playable Drapion appeared as part of Team AWD, who act as thieves in several islands. Team AWD also appeared in the Team Charm-based episode of Explorers of Sky as antagonists. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, a Drapion belonging to Kincaid appeared as a boss in the Cargo Ship and could be captured. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, they appeared at Layuda Island, and a Drapion appeared as a boss in the Forest Temple's first mission. Drapion also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at Eternal Tower.

• In the Pokémon anime, Drapion have appeared in several different episodes throughout the Sinnoh series. A Drapion was shown as one of Pokémon Hunter J's main Pokémon in several episodes and was particularly savage. One episode depicted Paul's failed attempt to capture a Drapion, although he was later shown to have acquired one which he used at the Lily of the Valley Conference. Drapion also made several appearances as part of Aaron's team, amongst other minor appearances.
• In the Pokémon Adventures manga, a Drapion was used by a Team Galactic grunt during the Diamond/Pearl arc. Aaron was later shown to own one during the Platinum arc.

• Its name may be a combination of "dragon" with "scorpion".
