Satellaview (sometimes called Broadcast Satellaview-X or BSX) was an online service for the Super Nintendo. The device gave players access to the St. Giga satellite broadcasting station in Japan and allowed them to download games and news between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Some games could only be played live during this time, while others could be saved and played anytime. There was also a community scoreboard where players could upload their scores and win prizes.

Though the system was never released outside of Japan, it was very successful. The service ran from April 1995 to June 2000. Though several third-party companies made games for the Satellaview, the majority of games were by Nintendo.
