Yuu Yuu Ki is an adventure game for the Famicom Disk System. The name translates to Brave Brave Spirit. The game was sold on two disks.

Story[edit]

The game is based on Journey to the West. Goku, the monkey king, is born from a rock and destined to journey west to achieve enlightenment. Goku is soon discovered by Chamu. As Goku travels, he meets a pig, a monster bandit, and a Buddhist priest.

Gameplay[edit]

Yuu Yuu Ki uses the same system as Shin Onigashima. The player uses menus to make your character talk or interact with objects. The picture on the top-right shows what's happening. The player is able to switch between five different characters.

Legacy[edit]

Goku and Chamu make a cameo appearance in Kirby's Dream Land 3.
