A Giant Breadbug is a bread loaf-shaped bug that steals food and treasures.

Information[edit]

The Giant Breadbug is similar to any other breadbug in that it grabs anything it can, drags it back to its burrow, and then resurfaces for more. Upon reaching maturity, it will usually stop bothering with the same prey that smaller creatures collect and will find much larger objects to hoard, an inconvenience for pikmin who also tackle large objects. The Giant Breadbug's thick hide protects against all but the strongest of shocks.

A purple pikmin that lands squarely on a Giant Breadbug will damage it (not much) and flip it over for a second (usually not long enough to attack with other pikmin). A much simpler way to kill the Giant Breadbug is to rely on its stubbornness. If enough pikmin grab an object that a Giant Breadbug is already dragging, they can drag it around instead. Even hopelessly outnumbered, the Giant Breadbug will continue to hold on to the item, until it hits its head on the ship as the item is sucked in. However, if a Giant Breadbug manages to drag pikmin into its burrow, they're gone for good. A convenience of the Giant Breadbug is that its body can then be used to defeat other breadbugs by waiting until they grab hold of it.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Giant Breadbug can be dragged/carried by approximately 10 pikmin, and is worth 10 pokos. When killed, its burrow collapses and any treasures it may have collected will resurface.
  • Louie's Cooking Notes: Although cooking this colossal beast yields a mountain of meat, every ounce of it is flavorless. Only suitable for intergalactic all-you-can-eat-buffets.
