Super Mario Strikers (known as Mario Smash Football in Europe and Australia) is a soccer video game featuring various Mario characters and is the first Mario soccer game.
Gameplay
The game is a soccer game with two opposing teams of five characters. Each team has one captain, three sidekicks and one Kritter goalkeeper, all of which are Mario characters chosen by the player. The player controls one character at a time and can switch at will. In addition to normal soccer controls, the player can use power-ups and also charge up their strikes to make "Super Strikes".
The game supports up to four players and is divided into several modes. Grudge Match is the standard mode, Strikers 101 is the tutorial mode, and Cup Battles are tournaments for both human and computer players.
