Magnetica Twist is a puzzle game for the WiiWare that costs 1,000 Wii points. It is based on the 2006 Nintendo DS game Magnetica.
Gameplay[edit]
A group of marbles are heading down a tube. The player can shoot marbles at the oncoming group. When the player makes a group of three or more of the same color, they disappear. The marbles are magnetically attracted which allows for combos. The game is over if the marbles reach a certain point, usually the center of the screen.
The game has several different modes. Survival Mode has the player playing as long as they can. In Quest Mode, the player must clear the board under certain conditions.
New Additions[edit]
One of the first things players will notice about Magnetica Twist is the new inclusion of Miis to sit in the middle of the machine that shoots marbles. The main new addition however, it the multiplayer mode.
Magnetica Twist offers up to 4 players to compete in either the several Team or Battle games. Team mode games include Daily, Clear, Fixed Colors, and Teamwork. Daily mode is a randomly chosen puzzle that changes everyday. In Clear mode, players must work together to clear out all the marbles before time runs out. Fixed Colors works like this except each player is assigned to a specific color. In the 2-player Teamwork mode, one player controls the machine while the other is in charge of launching the marbles. In Battle Mode, things become frantic as players can sabotage opponent's rails with their own marbles or use several offensive and defensive special items.
As an interesting way to promote using multiplayer with the same people, Miis that play often together will have a line drawn between them, and the more one Mii wins the thicker their end of the line will be. Also it's actually not necessary for human players to be present as the remaining three slots can be filled with as many computer players as needed.
