Shroomish"' is a mushroom-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. Its evolved form is Breloom.

Information

Shroomish prefers damp places and usually lives in the dark depths of forests. They keep still under the shade of fallen leaves during the day. It feeds on compost made of rotted, fallen leaves as well as damp, composted soil usually after a rainfall. If Shroomish sense danger, they shake their bodies to scatter spores from their head which are toxic enough to make trees and weeds wilt. Inhaling the poison will cause pain all over.

It evolves into Breloom at Level 23.

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Versions, Shroomish could be found somewhat commonly at Petalburg Woods. In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, Shroomish could appear at the Great Marsh after the National Pokédex was unlocked. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it could be rarely found when headbutting trees at Virdian Forest and it could also appear at the Safari Zone's Savannah area when enough Plains and Forest objects were present. In Black, it could appear at Route 11 during swarms.

Other Games

In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, a Shadow Shroomish could be snagged from Cipher R&D Klots at the Shadow Pokémon Laboratory, and after being purified it could be traded to any of the third generation color versions. In Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, it could be hatched from an egg and several also appeared as bumpers at the Sapphire Field. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at SOL Laboratory 2, Secret Storage 17, Huge Storage 2 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it was found at the sixth through twelfth floors of Sinister Woods and the twenty-first through twenty-fifth floors of Joyous Tower, while in Explorers of Time and Darkness it was recruitable at the first six floors of Mt. Horn and at the Final Maze. A Shroomish could also be obtained randomly in My Pokémon Ranch as one of the potential trades with Hayley, and it could be transferred to Diamond/Pearl (as well as Platinum in Japan) afterwards. Shroomish also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Meadow Zone.

• Shroomish have made various appearances in the Pokémon anime. One episode featured Ash's friends saving an abandoned mansion that several Shroomish inhabited. In a later episode, Team Rocket angered a group of Shroomish by stealing their fruits, and they evolved into Breloom out of anger.
