Delcatty is a glamorous cat-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the evolved form of Skitty.
Information
Delcatty evolves from a Skitty that has been exposed to the Moon Stone. They prefer to live an unfettered existence which leaves them free to live through their lives at their own pace. Delcatty eat and sleep whenever they decide, so their daily patterns end up being completely random. Delcatty is still considered nocturnal and becomes active at dusk. It sleeps in various spots that it finds comfortable rather than settling in any permanent lair. Delcatty will never fight other Pokémon that approach it while it sleeps, and it instead will move somewhere else. Delcatty also dislike dirty places and seek comfortable places to groom.
They are sought by trendy female trainers due to their sublime fur and style.
Appearances
Mainstream Games
Delcatty has not bee found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving a Skitty.
Other Games
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, a Shadow Delcatty could be snagged from Lovrina at the Shadow Pokémon Laboratory, and after being purified it could be traded to any of the third generation color versions. Delcatty could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Huge Storage 2, Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den. Delcatty could also be recruited in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness at the tenth through fifteenth basement floors of Concealed Ruins and the eighth through fifteenth basement floors of World Abyss.
Other Appearances
Other Media
- In the Pokémon anime, Delcatty was first featured in one episode of the Hoenn series belonging to the champion Pokémon Coordinator named Dr. Abby. The Delcatty was named Johnny and had helped her to win all those contests as a Skitty. One of the special episodes also featured a trainer named Georgio who battled Misty with Delcatty as his main Pokémon, although it had to be rescued once Butch and Cassidy of Team Rocket stole it. During the Sinnoh series, Delcatty was shown as the main Pokémon of Johanna's rival Lila.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Ruby's Skitty evolved into a Delcatty after touching Steven Stone's Moon Stone while fighting at Granite Cave. Ruby admired its new appearance and continued to use it in contests for Cuteness competitions, and the Delcatty has remained a steady member of Ruby's team.
