Debut Star Fox

A veteran of the original and new Star Fox Team, Peppy took over the post of general for the Cornerian Defense when General Pepper became too ill to serve.

Background

Peppy Hare was one of the wingmates in the original Star Fox team. Along with James McCloud and Pigma Dengar, they engaged in a mission to infiltrate Andross's base. However, they were betrayed by Pigma and only Peppy managed to escape. Once he returned to Corneria, he had the unfortunate task of delivering the news to Fox, the son of James McCloud. Soon after, Fox reformed the Star Fox team with new members, along with Peppy. Although Peppy lacked the youth of his teammates, his years of experience made him invaluable to easing the tensions in the group and providing advice.

During the new team's first mission, Peppy was able to teach his teammates valuable techniques. During the boss battles, he was also able to draw upon his experience to ascertain the enemy's weak point. However, he soon discovered his old wingmate, Pigma Dengar, had joined Star Wolf. During the battles with Star Wolf, Peppy was targetted by Pigma. Eventually the team was able to defeat Andross.

Peppy before becoming general

During the eight years afterwards, Peppy retired as a pilot and took a position as a navigator and mission's advisor. During Fox's mission on Sauria, Peppy primarily provided assistance in terms of mission support and finding relevant information. After Andross was defeated again, he yielded his position to Krystal and officially retired as a pilot. He continued to provide advice through the mission against the Aparoids. When General Pepper was captured by the Aparoids and had to be shot down, Pepper piloted a Arwing and used it to cushion Pepper's descent, saving his life. In the final battle, Peppy crashed the Great Fox into the Aparoid homeworld. Although the Great Fox was destroyed, Peppy and ROB 64 managed to escape in an external part of the ship.

At an uncertain point during his life, Peppy was married to a woman named Vivian. She eventually died, but not before they had a child together- a daughter named Lucy.

Peppy's old friend, General Pepper, eventually fell ill and was confined to his sickbed. Pepper requested that Peppy be promoted to fill his spot. The deal was done, and Peppy Hare became General Peppy Hare, general of Corneria and commander-in-chief of the Cornerian Defense Force. Instead of taking the orders from the general, as he had when he was a member of Star Fox, now it was he who gave out the orders to his former teammates.

During the Anglar invasion of Star Fox Command, General Peppy faces problems holding off the Anglar's invasion of Corneria. He plays small roles in most storylines, usually appearing only in holograms to command the Star Fox crew.

Possible Fates

Peppy and Lucy in Ending 5

Peppy is only playable in Star Fox Command's Ending 2 path, where Lucy travels to Corneria and clears the remaining enemy forces on the planet. After an emotional conversation with her, General Peppy decides to deliver a message to the Star Fox team in person, riding an Arwing. He accompanies his former teammates Fox, Slippy and Falco in their battles on Titania and in the final battles on Venom, and it turns out to be the Star Fox team's last mission before it is dissolved.

The only other role where Peppy has a role is Ending 5, where he and Lucy spend the night reminiscing about Vivian Hare.
