Clawgrip, alternatively known as Clawglip as well, is a giant crab and a boss from the game Super Mario Bros. 2.

Background

Appearing as the boss of Subcon's fifth world in Super Mario Bros. 2, Clawgrip would attack the player by throwing boulders at the player. Players would have to grab these buolders and throw them back at Clawgrip to injure him. After being hit several times, Clawgrip would be defeated.

Other Appareances

• Clawgrip made occasional, rare appearances in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, where he was a minion of King Koopa instead of Wart; several Clawgrips appear to terrorize Mario in the Nintendo Comics System issue "The Fish That Should've Gotten Away".

Trivia

• Clawgrip's name was accidently mispelled "Clawglip" in the ending credits of Super Mario Bros. 2.
• Clawgrip wasn't in Doki Doki Panic, the game Super Mario Bros. 2 was based on; instead of battling Clawgrip, players would fight a third, white Mouser. Also, in Super Mario Advance, it is revealed that Clawgrip was originally a Sidestepper that was grown to huge proportion by one of Wart's bubbles.
