Ferroseed is a thorn-covered metallic Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. Its evolved form is Ferrothorn.
Information
Ferroseed appears to be some strange combination of plant and metal. They feed by sticking their spikes into cave walls and absorbing the minerals that they find there. As a defensive mechanism, it predictably can fire the thorns covering its body at the enemy. Ferroseed then usually roll away while their enemy is distracted.
It evolves into Ferrothorn at Level 40.
Appearances
Mainstream Games
In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, they are uncommonly found at Chargestone Cave.
Trivia
- Its name is a combination of "ferrum" (which is Latin for iron as well as being the name used on the periodic table of elements) and "seed".
