Sin & Punishment (with the subtitle of Successor of the Earth in Japan) was a rail shooter for the Nintendo 64. Despite originally being released only in Japan and China, the game featured English voice-acting.

Story

The year is 2007. The population has grown too large and food is scarce. A new species called Ruffians were created to solve this problem, but they turned violent and caused havoc across Japan. An American group called the Armed Volunteers is charged with solving the problem, but move to take over the country.

Amidst this chaos, a girl named Achi is helping individuals on both sides. Her blood has a strange effect on people because she isn't of this world.

Gameplay

The game is essentially a rail-shooter. The action automatically moves forward and the player is in charge of aiming, shooting, and dodging attacks. The player can switch between Manual and Lock-On Targeting. Lock-On Mode makes targeting easy, but your shots do less damage. Players have a limited amount of time to get through the game. If the timer runs out, the player slowly lose life.

Multiplayer mode involves two players controlling one character. The first character controls the players movements while the second aims and shoots.

Legacy

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Saki has made appearances as an Assist Trophy and a Mii Fighter costume.
