The game was originally called Gimmick Land and was to be released for the Game Boy Color. However, when the Game Boy Advance launched, it was decided that it should be released on the Game Boy Advance.
Story
The game takes place in the Ketchup Kingdom. DeMille, the hero of the game, lives in a school bus with no wheels. DeMille is watching TV when he sees that King Abira is celebrating Tomato Day by demonstrating the Super Cara-Cooker, a device that turns people into toys. DeMille goes to his friend, Seremo, and asks her to fix his TV. Seremo agreed and gave DeMille his first gimmick, the Gear Yo-Yo. Shortly after, DeMille's girlfriend Patharan came to show him a gift she was given by someone on the top of Toy Ruins, the Gimmick Robo, but it was gone when they arrived. Two purple creatures, Gorikki and Burikki, was there and kidnapped Patharan with a hook and flew off with her on the Carorna No.2. DeMille was thrown overboard and Patharan was taken to Gimmick Palace. When he tried to enter, he found out that he needed six Toy Parts to enter the Gimmick Palace. With that, DeMille began his journey.
Gameplay
Players can walk around and talk to people as well as explore areas. When they bump into an enemy, they enter battle. The player mostly uses Gimmicks to battle. Each Gimmick has a minigame associated with it in order for it to be effective. The player can increase the minigame's difficulty in order to make the attack more damaging. As the player makes successful attacks, they earn stars which can be used to do an Extreme Attack.
Legacy
