Debut Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

Kylie Koopa is a supporting character appearing in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, where she exists in the past timeline (the time when Mario and Luigi were still babies).

Background

Kylie was an ace reporter working for the Koopa Kronicle. She was fast-talking, tomboyish and always eager to find a big scoop. Kylie had a habit of speaking in old-fashioned slang and constantly snapping pictures with her camera. She confronts Mario and Luigi several times during the Shroob invasion in Partners in Time.

She first meets the Mario Bros. on Yoshi's Island, where she investigates the strange goings-on there and is nearly devoured by the Yoob. Later on, she met them again at the Gritzy Desert and helped them to enter the Shroobs' dome by telling them about a secret entrance. They then saved her after she was eaten by Petey Piranha. In the process she found the key to something inside the Shroobs' mothership and thought she could use it to reach her next big scoop.

Kylie then infiltrated the Shroob mothership disguised as a Shroob, but she had to reveal herself to save Mario and Luigi later on. She the used the key on a machine, only for it to open a hatch that dumped the Mario Bros. and Kylie as well. Kylie landed back on Yoshi's Island and landed on Toadbert's head, which unlocked his memory. Kylie and Toadbert rushed to warn the Mario Bros. against reuniting the Cobalt Star, but before they could say the full message they were turned into mushrooms by the Shroobs. However, they were later returned to the normal with the rest of the world by the flood of baby tears.

In the present, at the end of the game, it is shown that she wrote a book based on the adventure dubbed "Fungicide: The Epic Battle for the Mushroom Kingdom".
