Vulpix is a fox-like Fire-type Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation games.

Information

Vulpix is a small Pokémon known for its many tails. It originally has one white tail at birth, but as it grows older, more tails grow from it, and it also gains color, eventually maxing out at six red tails which curl. However, it has been said that the tails will only split if the Vulpix receives enough love from its trainer. Its fur and tails are known for their beauty, and it is commonly considered to be warm and cuddly. The six warm tails grow more beautiful as it gets older, and it also grows a more luxurious coat of fur. When it is attacked by a larger enemy, it will feign injury to trick the enemy and attempt to escape.

A flame glows within Vulpix's body that never goes out. When temperatures rise during the daytimes, Vulpix breathes flames in order to keep its body from getting too hot. They can freely control fire and make fiery orbs fly like will-o'-the-wisps. Just before it is evolving, its six tails burn as if on fire. Vulpix's only evolution is into Ninetales, when exposed to a Fire Stone.
