Furret is a ferret-like Pokémon that was introduced in the second generation games. It is the evolved form of Sentret.

Information

Furret evolves from Sentret at Level 15. Their bodies are long and slim enough that it is impossible to determine where one's tail begins on its body. Furret usually build nests in narrow burrows to accommodate such forms. The nests are known to become more maze-like as they become deeper. These nests are usually impossible for other Pokémon to enter.

Despite its short limbs, it is very nimble and fleet. They are known to squirm through narrow spaces to escape from battle. Furret usually chase down their prey, Rattata, with swift speeds. Furret mothers have also been known to put their children to sleep by curling around them with their long bodies.

Appearances

Mainstream Games

In Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Furret were rarely found at Route 1. In Crystal, they also appeared more commonly at Route 43, and in HeartGold/SoulSilver Furret could also be found at the Safari Zone's Swamp and Wetland areas when enough Plains objects were present. Furret could also be caught at the Town Outskirts course of the Pokéwalker, from which it could be transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver.

In all other games, Furret could only be obtained through evolution or by trading from another game.

Other Games

Furret was featured in the "Furret's Frolic" minigame in Pokémon Stadium 2, where players controlled one of four Furret competing in pushing Poké balls into their own goal areas. In Pokémon Colosseum, a Shadow Furret could be snagged from Rogue Cail at Pyrite Town, and after being purified it could be traded to any of the third generation color versions. In Pokémon Trozei!, it could be found at Secret Storage 14, Endless Level 26, Forever Level 11 and Mr. Who's Den.

Furret could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, while in Explorers of Time and Darkness it could be recruited at the first nineteen floors of Mt. Travail. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Furret was found at Canal Ruins. Furret also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure where one and his sister were a guards at the Granite Zone. Furret could also be befriended at the Flower Zone and appeared at the Meeting Place.

Other Appearances

Other Media

  • In the Pokémon anime, Furret made mostly minor appearances, although its most notable was late in the Johto series when Ash battled a trainer with an unusually strong Furret in his first match of the Silver Conference.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Furret have also had a primarily minor presence, only being seen belonging to a few trainers.

Trivia

  • Its name is a play on "ferret" combined with "fur", as it notably resembles an actual ferret.
