Limstella is the most powerful of Nergal's minions and one of the last bosses of Fire Emblem.

Background

Nergal created Limstella to be the most powerful of his morphs and considered her to be his masterpiece. Nergal constantly praised her, although according to Renault he had no true affection for his morphs. Regardless of what he really though of her, Limstella was blindly loyal to her master and carried out every mission he gave her with acute precision.

She was first seen in "Dragon's Gate" (Eliwood Chapter 19, Hector Chapter 20), when Nergal assigned her to meet with Sonia in Bern and arrange a meeting with King Desmond. Sonia looked down on Limstella and called her a mere puppet, as Sonia believed herself to be a human when she was a morph as well. Nergal then called in both she and Limstella after in "New Resolve" (Eliwood Chapter 20, Hector Chapter 21), after he received a great wound. Nergal then sent Limstella out with orders to kill anyone of great power and bring their quintessence to him for healing his wound.

Limstella then lurked in the shadows and collected the quintessence of various Black Fang members as they were slain in battle with Eliwood and his company. If anyone survived (such as possibly Linus, Lloyd or Ursula), she would finish them herself. In "Night of Farewells" (Eliwood Chapter 26x, Hector Chapter 28x), Limstella offers to help Sonia fight off Eliwood and his company, but she refuses her help out of pride and was fatally wounded in the ensuing battle. Afterwards Limstella left her to die, calling her a worthless puppet and saying she was useless to Nergal since morphs don't have quintessence. (If the chapter was skipped, Nergal instead executed Sonia because she was inferior to Limstella).

Nergal eventually deployed Limstella to take on Eliwood's company in "Victory or Death" (Eliwood Chapter 30, Hector Chapter 32) and collect their quintessence for Nergal's use in summoning hordes of dragons. Due to the high amount of magic Nergal had bestowed upon Limstella, he predicted her body could not take it much longer and she would be corrupted by the next day, but Limstella was simply proud that she would die for Nergal. Limstella engaged Eliwood's company in battle, failed to defeat them and was killed. In her cryptic last words she remarked that her whole being was fake and she was not human, ending with the words "as this is sorrow".
