Space Fire Bird is a 1980 arcade game designed by and published by Nintendo.
Story[edit]
On a standard cruise mission, it's discovered that what was once thought to be harmless planetoids are actually deadly Fire Birds. The fire birds attack and it's up to you, the captain, to destroy them.
Gameplay[edit]
The Fire Birds start at the top of the screen and fly down in complex formations, shooting at the player. The player can move left and right to dodge as well as fire back. The player can also equip a shield and fly to them, destroying everything in your path.
A 1000 point bonus is awarded for destroying all 50 enemies on a level. An extra life is awarded for every 5000 points.
Enemies[edit]
- Emperor - Worth 100 points and takes 4 shots to destroy.
- Eagle - Worth 50 points and takes 2 shots to destroy.
- Gull - Worth 20 points and takes 1 shot to destroy.
- Bomb - Destroyed in a single shot. Can be worth 50, 100, 150, or 200 points.
- Warp - Ram or shoot it for a warp.

- In 1981, the game was rereleased with updated graphics as Space Demon.
