Popeye is the name of two different Game & Watch games both based on the Popeye comics and cartoons. The first was released in Wide Screen format, while the latter was released in the Panorama and Tabletop formats.

Widescreen Version[edit]

Popeye is in a boat in the center of the screen and must be moved to catch the pineapples, spinach and bottles that are tossed by Olive Oil from the left side of the screen. However, Brutus is on the right side of the screen and will attempt to punch Popeye. Every two missed objects and every hit Brutus lands will count as a miss. In Game B, Brutus will also appear in the pier on the left to attack Popeye with a hammer.

Tabletop/Panorama Version[edit]

This version is a direct battle between Popeye and Brutus. The goal is to punch Brutus off the edge of the pier before he does the same to Popeye in order to save Olive Oil. Getting punched into the ocean by Brutus constitutes as a miss. Olive Oil will also occasionally toss a spinach can down, which when caught will allow Popeye to punch Brutus onto a hook, automatically ending a round. In Game B, a swordfish will additionally attempt to attack Popeye from below.
