Ganondorf is the King of Evil and the main antagonist in the Legend of Zelda series. In his original appearance, Ganon was depicted as a pig demon that wielded a magic trident. In Ocarina of Time, Ganondorf was seen for the first time in his original Gerudo body. As the king of the Gerudo, he attempted to use his influence to overthrow Hyrule and to gain the ultimate prize, the Triforce. His efforts were countered by both Link and Zelda. After his defeat, he would return many times over the centuries to battle both of his foes.

Throughout his many appearances, Ganondorf has been associated with the Triforce of Power and usually is the one to bear it. In all of the 3D games, Ganondorf is always depicted in his Gerudo form, though in both Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, he was shown to transform into his pig demon form. However in all of the 2D games, his appearance is that of a large blue anthropomorphic pig like in his original debut. Ganondorf made his first Smash appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a secret playable character. His moveset was a slower, stronger version of Captain Falcon.
