Catria is a playable unit appearing in Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi, Gaiden, Monshou no Nazo, Part 2 of BS Fire Emblem: Akaneia Senki and Shadow Dragon.

Background

BS Fire Emblem

Catria was the middle sister of the three pegasus knight sisters from Macedon who worked under General Minerva as the Whitewings mercenary group. She worked with her elder sister Palla and younger sister Est, the latter of whom she was somewhat proetctive of. During the War of Darkness, Dolhr held Minerva's sister Maria hostage in order to force Minerva and the Whitewings into fighting as part of the Dolhr Empire in the war. In BS Fire Emblem, Catria and Palla helped Minerva in defeated corrupt deserters from the Macedon army.

Book One

Afterwards during the events of Shadow Dragon, the Whitewings were initially deployed to battle Marth's men at Lefcandith Army in Chapter 7 (6 SNES), but they eventually retreated after Minerva either was disgusted by the general's methods or was defeated. Minerva planned to rebel against Dolhr, but Maria needed to be safe. Catria was sent to relay this message to Marth at the end of Chapter 9 (or Chapter 7 of the SNES version). The Whitewings were seperated from Minerva once Dolhr learned of her plans, but as soon as they heard Maria had been saved, Palla and Catria left Macedon and joined with Marth's army at Gra in Chapter 14 (11 SNES). After the war ended, Catria returned to Macedon to help with rebuilding, and was said to have briefly had unrequited love for a man in the army (most likely Marth, as she calls out to him as her death quote in Book Two).

Gaiden

After Est was captured by pirates, Palla and Catria traveled to the continent of Valencia to find her. They joined with Celica's army in Chapter 3 when she attacked the pirates' hideout, and they successfully rescued Est. They then remained among Celica's ranks for the end of the war, and then returned to Archanea happily (or full of sorrow if one or two of the sisters had died).

Book Two

Three years later, a rebellion broke out in Macedon. Palla and Catria were able to escape, but Minerva was captured by the rebels. Catria came to Marth at the beginning of Chapter 2 to warn him about this and joined with his forces in order to help save Minerva. She could also recruit a friend of hers named Warren. After the War of Heroes ended, Catria worked tirelessly towards restoring Macedon despite missing her older sister (which is somewhat confusing as Palla's ending does not mention leaving Macedon, unless it refers to Est who goes missing; if Palla was killed, the ending is altered to say that Catria was pained by Palla's death).

Trivia

  • Catria, Est and Camus are the only characters to appear in some form in all five of the Archanea-set Fire Emblem games, and of these three Catria and Est are unique in that they are playable in all of these games.
  • In Monshou no Nazo, she receives Support Bonuses from Minerva and Marth, and in Shadow Dragon she receives Support Bonuses from Minerva, Marth, Cain and Frey.
