Green House is a Game & Watch game released in Multi-Screen format. It was apparently the inspiration for the arcade game Donkey Kong 3, which starred Stanley. The main character, the Fumigator, seems to be the inspiration for Stanley, if not actually Stanley himself.

Information[edit]

The player controls the Fumigator in his efforts to protect the flowers of a greenhouse from being ruined by insects. He was armed with a spray gun that could be used to defeat the insects. The Fumigator must alternate between two screens to stop the insects. In the upper screen there are winged insects that slowly approach the flowers. In the lower screen there are spiders that will attack after lowering completely from their webs. The spiders are only vulnerable to attack in the moments prior to their attack.

Legacy[edit]

Aside from inspiring Donkey Kong 3, one of Mr. Game & Watch’s moves in Super Smash Bros. Melee was based on this game.

Ports and Remakes[edit]

Green House was also later included in Game & Watch Gallery 3. This release included both the original “Classic” version and a new “Modern” version. The Modern version starred Yoshi as he used watermelon seeds to fight off enemies in an homage to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. The insect enemies were replaced with Fly Guys and Monkeys.
