Cubivore: Survival of the Fittest is a GameCube game based on natural selection.

Cubivore was originally a Nintendo 64DD game. The development was eventually moved to the Gamecube. When it was released, it recieved mixed reviews; some people hated it, some loved it. Due to it's response in Japan, Nintendo decided not to publish the game in America. However, they allowed Altus to bring it to America.

Story[edit]

One cubivore, called Killer Cubivore, has become too powerful. All the other cubivores are forced to serve him and nature is thrown out of balance. One cubivore is growing more powerful in order to defeat Killer Cubivore and nature.

Gameplay[edit]

In Cubivore, the object of the game is to kill Killer Cubivore's minions. After defeating the enemy, the player gets an object which they can use to upgrade their own cubivore. Through battling and mating, the player's cubivore slowly becomes more powerful.

Battling itself is simple enough. Cubivores can attack, block, run, jump, and evade. Battles are mostly a matter of memorizing the enemy's attack pattern and attacking it's weak spot.

Legacy[edit]

A cubivore is available as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
